Free Webinar – Using the Cloud to Control the Rain

May 16, 2015

At Forester University, our live webinars present you with the stormwater management experts, who share best management practices, informative project case studies, and real-world applications. Join our faculty of industry experts in our live webinar (or series of webinars) exploring the technological innovations, project site applications, and any associated regulatory requirements in a comprehensive discussion of this topic. Please see below for a full description and registration information for this event.

Free Webinar – Using the Cloud to Control the Rain
June 2, 2015
11:00 am – 12:30 pm

Join Marcus Quigley and Kevin Marsh as they explore the hydrology, design, BMPs, and limitations of typical (passive) stormwater detention and retention systems; the new technologies integrating the internet-of-things (IoT) and cloud-native platforms for an active stormwater management system; and how you can implement this technology with your existing stormwater infrastructure to improve your performance and results.

[text_ad] In this webinar, we’ll start by covering the current stormwater management practices with:
  • a detailed look at the hydrology
  • design, and BMPs of typical (passive) stormwater detention and retention systems.
  • regional differences in their applications
  • explore their common inefficiencies and limitations
Using several case studies, Quigley and Marsh will introduce the new technologies available that combine an internet-of-things approach and a cloud-native platform to optimize your existing stormwater infrastructure’s performance and ability to adapt to different storm events. We’ll take a look at the different technologies available, their benefits, and long-term potential for a multitude of stormwater management situations.  We'll explore:
  • cloud-native platforms
  • weather forecast integration
  • distributed real-time controls
Additionally, Quigley and Marsh will present OptiNimbus, a SaaS solution for stormwater management that uses forecast information to predict the amount of rain entering a watershed and prepares the system to receive the forecasted water based on site objectives and regulations, resulting in improved performance and the ability to minimize wet-weather discharge and maximize harvesting potential. Finally, Quigley and Marsh will outline how you can implement these new technologies into your existing stormwater infrastructure to optimize your performance.
