Katchall Filtration Systems LLC has once again developed an “industry-first” product, Catch BasinBioFiltration Retrofit Devices (CBBFRs). Katchall (southern California) has long been known as a premier design/manufacturer of many innovative stormwater, groundwater, wastewater and heavymetals water-quality filtration devices.

Katchall’s CBBFR devices were designed in response to the tougher regulations regarding on-siteretention and reuse recently adopted by the Regional Water Quality Control Board’s promulgated by the California State Water Resources Control Board.

An existing catch basin can now easily be retrofitted into a biofiltration chamber using one of theKatchall CBBFR devices. Depending on the size of the inlet structure, retrofits can usually beaccomplished within less than 1-hour / each.

Features:

* Units can be manufactured to fit virtually any existing structure size.

* BioFiltration is accomplished via root structures (systemic uptake) and biomass medias.

* Mixed Media Bed provides a broader spectrum of pollutant removals, i.e., heavy metals, etc.

* CBBFR units can usually eliminate the need for additional irrigation system installations

* Filtration/discharge rates can be customized to meet individual project’s needs

* Media life-cycle is anticipated to be 2 – 3 years
