This is a picture of a storm swale in a subdivision in Cochrane, Alberta. Notice the sediment in the swale and lumber on the catch basin. The stakes are actually the stakes used to hold up the silt fence that was erected to protect the swale. Erosion pulled the fence out, and discarded the fabric about 50m upstream of the catch basin.
